It was one year ago today that I launched www.drawingtutorialsonline.com. It’s been a wild ride and I certainly have learned a tremendous amount. Both with drawing and with running a full blown business. The site has hundreds of very talented active members. I will constantly be adding more content as the months and years go by. I won’t let the site become stale. It truly has a life of it’s own.
Which bring me to two new projects. One is a sister site to www.drawingtutorialsonline.com. It’s going to be a web TV show called what else, “Drawing TV Online”. I’m already working on the details behind the scenes. This sites primary function is to introduce to the online world the amazing talent I see on a weekly basis. I will showcase a new artist each week. It will be a great place to get exposure. However I don’t want to rush it. It will be up and running late Fall early Winter. I’m moving into a bigger studio this Fall which will be better suited to shoot a web TV show. It’s going to have a mini stage set which will be fun to develop.
You might be asking what is the difference between a web TV show and just plain old video tutorials. A web TV show comes on the same time every single week and runs a certain set duration every week which is a serious commitment. So I’m very excited about it. It will based of course on drawing, go figure. I will be highlighting different artists and other particulars still being worked out.
The second project I am working on is a new personal site. It will be called “www.matthewarchambault.com”. On this site I will put my personal portfolio. I will also offer personal one on one coaching as well as different products associated with marketing for artists. Marketing and promoting are two sore topics for a lot of great artists who should be doing better than they are. There are so many incredibly talented artists who just don’t want to deal with marketing. I love marketing, I’ve studied it and I teach it in my Advanced Illustration and the Marketplace class. I will offer a few options in terms of different products to meet everyones budget needs.
So that’s it for now. This Fall is going to be very busy between moving my family into a new house on Long Island’s east end, running Drawing Tutorials Online and growing these two new sites. I’d love to hear what’s going on in your life. If you’ve got any new exciting art things going on I would love to showcase your stuff on “Drawing TV Online”.
Consider using this August to plan out some new goals. What is it that you want to accomplish between now and December 31. Always keep pushing yourself to try new things. Try to push yourself to feel uncomfortable like I mentioned in an earlier blog post. If you feel uncomfortable it usually means that you are growing and learning.
What’s happening this week at Drawing Tutorials Online. I photographed two great models from the School of Visual Arts. John who is in total shape and GiGi La Femme who is a burlesque dancer. It’s a dirty job but someone has to do it. I’m going to be creating five new Downloadable PDF’s from the photos. Two will be “Pin Up Reference PDF’s” and three will be “Classical Figure Drawing” reference. I will also be putting some of the choice photos into two to four brand new “Online Pose” videos. Sometimes Tuesday or Wednesday I will be uploading the my first Anatomy Lesson on the muscles of the body, specifically the muscles of the face. So look for new stuff!!

Just wanted to take the time to say Thank You for all the emails sent to me. I enjoy them very much and look forward to all you will be sending out to me. To make sure I keep up with all you offer I make sure that I make a copy of all your information on video and save material to my computer. This way I take my laptop every where I go and I’m able to watch all I saved at the drop of a hat. But enough of that. Tomorrow I will be taking out membership so I can better myself in what you have to offer. My age as you know is now 65 and I have been drawing for the past 54 years but mainly draw for myself. I draw up to 18 hrs a day 7 days a wk 365 days a year. Every now and than I will take in a new client but mainly draw portraits of Grandchildren to pass down to all later on in life. What you are doing for one and all is very wonderful and again Thank You so very much. Wish you all the success in all that you do. Stay Safe and Be Happy Always and May Fantastic Things Be On The Horizon For You And Your Love One’s Forever. Llewkcots

It’s wonderful that you are doing this! You are such a go getter X3 I’mma have to binge soon when I get money on your DVDs. I haven’t been to a life drawing session the whole year and I feel it affecting my drawing x.x; but on a good note, I am trying new things so we’ll see where that takes my talent. I hope you are doing well :3

Happy birthday all
I am appreciated to be a part of this community and I have already learned a lot in the last couple of months.
Looking forward for the sister site “Drawing TV Online” as well.
PS: It is important to spent time with the family between drawing and working sessions. At least, that’s what my wife says
Cheers,
Serhan

Wow, are you sure you’re not an alien or something? I’m certain you don’t breathe! You’re doing so much and you’re moving home!
I’d love more details on Drawing TV – though showcasing would be a loooong way off. The one on one teaching sounds fantastic. I’d be very interested in that!
The logos look great, and you deserve ALL the success that comes your way, you’ve certainly earned it.

Andrew,
I make sure I don’t work at night anymore. I spend time with my family at night after dinner. However I do just about six to seven days a week. I do my best to pace myself, I guess my body let’s me know when I’m doing too much:)
Thanks for the comment!

How does your wife and kids fit in to your day!? I only have one, who just went off to college this year, and I don’t have enough time to set aside for myself at all.
I certainly speak for all the other members and thank you for putting up a wonderful site and dedicating your time to our growth!
How can this get any better?
