Well I couldn’t help myself. I had to shoot a video of Pauline’s little sketchbook. This one has a lot of color work in it which is pretty cool. I can’t stress enough how good Pauline is at just 17 years old. Can you believe she lost her first big sketchbook while drawing in a Petco. She left it there, when she went back it was gone. Make sure that you not only write your name and cell phone number in your sketchbook but include a little mini reward for it’s return. Without a mini reward you will most likely never get it back if it’s as good as Pauline’s.
I left one of my prized sketchbooks in an SVA classroom. I offered a reward however no one ever returned it. So Pauline’s not the only person who has lost a prized treasure.
This past week has been amazing. All of the high school students were so talented. I truly attribute this to all of the various video tutorials that are put on the internet from all different artists. We are truly in the information age. That is why these students are so good at a young age. I’d love to hear your take on that. Post a comment below.
Thanks for watching.

Really unfortunate what happened to her sketchbook, and sadly the person who found it never return it.
Great sketchbook, really nice drawings and paintings…actually i was surprised to find them in her sketchbook and I wanted to know if is a watercolor sketchbook or just a normal one?
I also wanted to know, how does she send her artwork to be featured in google or if she knows an actual link (would be great), lastly, I just wanted to say that she has really inspired me to do more sketches along with other great people you’ve shown as well.

Awesome sketchbook! Yes, the internet definitely has advantages. There’s so much out there and it can help to inspire and give some direction. But mostly, it’s still all about drawing everyday and keeping it going day in and day out. You can definitely tell Pauline draws every day and lots of hours. Beautiful work!

I think her work is awesome!! I’m 30 years old so I’m a lttle before the anime era but when I I was a teen I got into vampire hunter D Akria and many more. I grew out of that stage but her work is bring me back..I like it better than the anime I see on TV. Keep up the good work!!

Great drawings Pauline. You have buckets of talent
Thanks Matt for allowing us to see your student’s work. I find it very inspiring. Now where’s my sketchbook…?

very nice! i have to say its not only because of the free information out there but these kids are good early because of the popularity of Anime.if ya notice almost every one of them draws Anime stuff.its easy fun and cute.but most can only draw faces,Pauline can draw the whole figure with gesture.

I like it. Really cool how Pauline mixed it all up in there, even using watercolors. Kind of sad its so small.
The help from all the internet video tutorials out there is huge. I learned quite a bit off it, and you can get to see all these different sides to things you thought you already knew quite well. I would definetely second that it is the cause for the improvement of your new students.

Wow, I can’t believe that she lost that sketchbook! I didn’t realize sketchbooks were such a popular theft item.
She is very talented and should go far. I have one little suggestion for her, I think her drawings are too Manga centric. I think maybe she should try to expand with other things for diversity?
Thanks for sharing.
